LI: To write a description of life with the Frank family in the Annex in 1942
The Annex was quiet except for our footsteps on the creaking floorboards. Our beds were cramped and the air was filled with dust. We had very basic facilities and not that much food to share. The longer the war went on, the worse the food became. The peeled, rough walls were covered in dull colors so we had very little to look at. Whenever we heard the German people downstairs we would sit in silence, frozen in fear. All of our food supplies were brought by brave people who lived downstairs, covering for us and making sure Germans didn’t get suspicious.Anne Frank was my very interesting friend. Almost everyday she would record all the events in her diary. So that everyone can one day hear what we went through.
We are reading the book ‘Diary of Anne Frank’. Mrs Anderson created a Gemini Gem to prompt us to think more deeply about what life would have been like in the annex, what we felt and why we felt that way.
I enjoyed using the Gem, because it gave us hints instead of answers, helping us level up our ideas and expand our knowledge.
